Are You Ready for Fall Flowers? The Colors We’re Loving for Early Fall in Tennessee

There is something special about September in Tennessee. Summer hasn’t completely disappeared, but you can feel fall beginning to make its way in. The light changes, the evenings start to feel different, and suddenly we’re ready for warmer, richer colors.

At Laurel & Leaf, our favorite early-fall floral designs don’t immediately jump to bright orange pumpkins and traditional autumn colors. Instead, we love creating a softer, more sophisticated transition into the season with toffee roses, burgundy, plum, dusty pink, creamy neutrals and beautiful textural greenery.

What Colors Are Trending for Fall Floral Arrangements?

This fall, we’re especially drawn to layered, unexpected color palettes.

Think:

● Toffee and cappuccino roses

● Deep burgundy and wine tones

● Plum and mauve

● Dusty pink

● Soft cream and ivory

● Chocolate and caramel tones

● Rich, textural greenery

These colors feel distinctly autumnal without being overly traditional.

A dusty pink garden rose next to a deep burgundy bloom can completely change the feeling of an arrangement. Add a caramel-colored rose, cream flowers and interesting foliage, and suddenly you have a floral arrangement that feels romantic, European-inspired and perfect for September in Tennessee.

Fall Flowers Don’t Have to Be Orange

One of the things we love most about floral design is that there are no rules saying fall flowers have to be orange, yellow and red.

For a more elevated look, we often use muted fall colors and unexpected combinations.

Burgundy paired with blush can feel incredibly romantic. Toffee roses mixed with cream create a warm, neutral arrangement that works beautifully in a contemporary home. Plum and dusty pink add depth without making an arrangement feel dark.

This is our favorite way to design for early fall—seasonal, but not predictable.

Bringing Fall Flowers Into Your Franklin or Brentwood Home

Fresh flowers are also one of the easiest ways to transition your home from summer into fall.

Instead of immediately changing all of your home décor, try placing a large garden-style arrangement on a kitchen island, dining table or entryway.

For modern homes, a more sculptural arrangement with rich foliage and clean lines can be beautiful. For traditional or Southern interiors, we love lush arrangements filled with roses, seasonal flowers and natural textures.

At Laurel & Leaf, every arrangement is individually designed based on the best seasonal flowers available that day, so no two designs are exactly alike.

Flowers for Birthdays, Anniversaries and “Just Because”

September flowers aren’t only for decorating your home.

A rich fall arrangement makes a beautiful gift for a birthday, anniversary, thank-you, housewarming or just because.

Instead of choosing a specific flower, you can also give our designers a color palette or feeling and allow us to select the freshest seasonal flowers available.

Tell us:

“I want something romantic in dusty pink, plum and burgundy.”

Or:

“I want a neutral fall arrangement with toffee, cream and greenery.”

Then let us create.
